What is Young at Heart?
Young at Heart is an interdenominational Christian support group for men and women, age 55
and above. Meetings are held Thursday mornings from 10:00 to 11:15 at the Delos Smith Center.
All adults, age 55 and above, are welcome. There are no fees or other requirements for attendance.
Meetings begin with a welcome, announcements, prayer, and group singing. Special music
numbers are provided by Young at Heart family members and outside groups.
Local pastors, visiting missionaries, or other speakers representing various Christian organizations
give a brief devotional or presentation.
The name of "Young at Heart" is frequently shortened to "YAH" and WAY added to it to form YAHWAY, an Old
Testament term for Jehovah. It is the prayer of the Young at Heart family to do things God's way.
Encouragement and Outreach Ministries
Family and friends often gather early and leave late Thursday mornings to enjoy informal fellowship.
A "Care Caller" contacts Young at Heart family members weekly for praise and prayer requests.
Items are placed in a weekly newsletter distributed Thursday and mailed out to any unable to attend.
A prayer chain is used for more urgent prayer requests.
Lunch arrangements are made quarterly at a local restaurant for those who want to join us.
